Autumn/Winter/Driving in the Dark Course

How confident are you at driving at this time of year?

Do you feel equipped to drive:-

  1. In the dark?
  2. During dusk?
  3. When the sun is at a lower point in the sky, creating dazzling conditions?
  4. On roads where rainfall on autumn leaves creates potential skid conditions?
  5. During heavy downpours or deal with aquaplaning?
  6. In the fog?
  7. In the snow?
  8. On untreated roads with the risk of black ice?

If the answer to one or more of these is ‘No’, it might be worth considering taking an Autumn/Winter Refresher Course with a fully qualified AA Franchised Driving Instructor. The course is a mixture of theory and practical driving and is tailored to your specific needs, based on the following two modules (each lasting 1½ hours).

  1. Driving in the dark – Sessions begin at 7pm
  2. Driving in poor visibility (e.g. rain, fog, bright sunlight), snow, ice and dealing with skids – Theory sessions available at any time.  Practical sessions subject to weather conditions!

The cost of each individual module is £40 or purchase both modules for £70.

First Time Pass at Beeston Test Centre

Congratulations Umer on passing your test today at Beeston Test Centre (on your first attempt). Obviously, it has been a longer process than usual because your first test was cancelled (due to weather conditions), before you had to return to University, and then the test centre (at Chalfont Drive) closed. However, the extra lessons you’ve had this summer, primarily to familiarise you with the Beeston test area, have helped you become a far more accomplished driver. Well done again on your success today and I wish you many years of safe driving ahead of you.

Thoroughly professional instructor, with great attention to detail, as well as providing a friendly learning experience. Being taught by Martin, your odds of passing are likely to shoot up!  Most importantly, you will be a good driver at the end of the process. Umer

Coleman Passes First Time at Clarendon Street

Congratulations Coleman on passing your test today at Clarendon Street. You have become my 7th consecutive pupil from either the Nottingham High School (for boys) or the Nottingham Girls’ High School to pass first time; a remarkable record for the High Schools.

I have had a great experience learning from Martin. I am sure that it was partly due to his attention to detail that led to my passing first time. Coleman

Lesson Times

I offer driving lessons 7 days a week, with two sessions in the mornings, two in the afternoons and one in the evening (weekdays only).

Standard morning slots begin at:-

9am (for a 1½ hour lessons) or 8.30am (for 2 hour lessons)

Standard afternoon slots begin at:-

* 1pm or 1.30

* 3, 3.30pm or 4pm

* Please note that the start time of afternoon sessions is variable as it depends on whether earlier sessions were for 1½ or 2 hour lessons. Please also note that driving test times are variable and require a 2½ hour slot in my diary. Therefore, on days when I have a test scheduled, my slots available for lessons are likely to change.

Evening slots

These are scheduled according to individual needs. Generally, in the summer months these sessions start at 7pm but start times tend to become earlier (before and after summer) to maximise the available daylight (unless a driving in the dark session or driving in rush hour session is planned).
