Refresher sessions can be useful for a number of different people of different ages for different reasons. My most recent one was with a uni student who hadn’t driven for a couple of years and was just about to get a car. One single two hour lesson was all that was needed for her to be reassured and to regain the confidence to drive a car again.
Thank you so much for your help – you’ve helped me get my confidence back! R (Student of University of Nottingham)
I am currently offering a special Christmas gift package, consisting of a personalised gift voucher for a 2 Hour Taster Session (an introductory driving lesson for a new learner driver), along with a copy of the Highway Code and the AA booklet, “Learn the AA Way”. This package costs £35. I also offer an “e version” of this package, which consists of an e-voucher (in a pdf format, sent by mail) with links to an e-copy of the Highway Code and other supporting material, costing just £25.
The Taster Session is an opportunity for a new learner to have a taste of driving lessons, to meet me and have a first session before committing to any further lessons. It is usually recommended that a Taster Session takes place on a Sunday, as it is easier to find a suitable road for the first session (but this is not essential).
If you are considering driving lessons as a gift for a relative or friend this Christmas, please note that the offer is currently only open to learners who live in the areas where I currently provide lessons (so please see the please check the locations that I am currently delivering driving lessons or contact me to talk about your requirements in more detail).
As we approach the winter months, I am currently offering a mini-course to help support the development of skills for driving in the autumn/winter. Although it has been designed for relatively new drivers (who’ve passed their test in the last couple of years but didn’t take the Pass Plus course or didn’t experience driving in autumn/winter when learning to drive), it could be beneficial to anyone who would like to develop their driving skills or improve their confidence in driving at this time of year.
The mini-course is a two session event, focusing on the following:-
Session One (2 hours) – Daytime drive. This can form an assessment drive, to identify ways to improve your driving and covers a discussion about driving in various autumn and winter driving conditions (e.g. rain, wind, snow, ice, sleet, fog, winter sunshine).
Session Two (1 hour) – Driving session in the dark, on a range of roads (lit and unlit) covering the use of main beam lights, brake lights and fog lights.
The route chosen for the driving sessions will depend on your location and the subjects of autumn/winter driving weather conditions will be largely through discussion.
The cost of course is £70 (for the three hours over two sessions) with any additional sessions charged @ £25 per hour.
If there are other aspects of driving where you’d like to improve your driving skills or you would simply like to build up more confidence (e.g parking or dealing with crossroads or roundabouts), you could consider bespoke refresher sessions, which would be tailored to your specific needs.
